Volleyball 2-2 in district

Coach Belshaw notes 10-10-2007: "We played Diboll at home last night. Varsity won in 5 games, 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12. We are now 3-2 in district, tied for 2nd with Diboll (have not heard the results of the Center/Rusk match). but Carthage is still in first undefeated. Stats are unofficial at this time, but will be posted as soon as made official. JV lost in 2 games and Freshmen got their first district win, beating Diboll in 3 games. Diboll's freshmen had only lost to Carthage in district before that. The JV and freshmen will be in action again on Friday night at home against Huntington."

"I was really proud of the girls. We played a tough match tonight. We were down in the 5th game 11-2 and came back and won 15-12 off of sheer determination. They stayed focused and could have easily given it away, but they did not give up. This is when you see the fruit of all that you have done in the preseason. We are where we wanted to be at this point in district."
