This week at Crockett Jr. High Careers Class, students met Officer Ballard and Officer Thomas from the Houston County Sheriff’s Department, learning about law enforcement careers, certification requirements, and becoming a police officer. They also met Crockett graduate Jason Frizzell, Chief of the fire department, who shared insights on becoming a firefighter, including qualifications and emergency response procedures. The students had an enriching experience on both days.
At our Professional Learning Day, Crockett Jr. High and High School staff learned new strategies to use with their students.

Our High School Cosmetology class learned about skin layers and the function of the skin. They created models that showed the different layers of the skin.

Crockett High School students in Intro to Business, Marketing, and Finance participated in the Marshmallow Tower challenge! As they explored the concept of business ownership, students had the option to work individually (Sole Proprietorship) or collaborate with others (Partnership or Corporation) to construct the tallest tower possible. The competition was challenging, yet one team succeeded in building an impressive tower that reached a height of 44 3/8 inches!
Crockett Girls Cross Country will be competing at the West Trojan Run this Wednesday,, September 11, 2024 in West, TX.
